The winter of 2011-2012 produced the first MUGEN recordings, some of which went on to make the cut for debut full-length "She Is Never Coming Back". The two culled for this release - one an original, one a cover - had seemingly no fit on any other release, being one-off/B-Side style tracks.
"Conjuring" starts off reverb heavy, with flanged-out guitars trading lines and intertwining, eventually joined by a bouncy low end riff and phased-out guitars that create a hazy bliss.
"Pride And Fight" is a cover of a track from an early years Animal Collective live album, "Hollinndagain"; an album showcasing a combination of electronics, noise, drone, neo-tribalism and general drugged-out haze that heavily contributed influence to the overall MUGEN sound. This spur-of-the-moment recording resulted in a more spacey and blissed out version than the original, yet serves as a fair and honest tribute to an influence very near and dear to the heart.
